A Sense of Spirit
"We have a spiritual connection to our country. The country is part of who we are through songs, dance and stories. It is our responsibility to care for country to make sure we don’t lose our culture and dreaming, the very essence that makes us who we are."
There are a number of sites considered to be sacred by the local Aboriginal people located at Kooljaman.
The red pindan cliffs are culturally significant, and as such we ask that you do not climb on them or venture off the designated track on your way to the western beach.
The sand dunes on the eastern side contain ancestral remains and ancient middens, and therefore are strictly off-limits to visitors.
If you would like to learn more about the significance of these sites, consider a cultural tour with Bundy or Brian.
